Dear Sirs .... I am writing this to let you know that I am a resident of New London, N.C. and
own a home at 108 Oak Street.... approximately 600 to 700 yards across Hwy. 52. I am very
much OPPOSED to this mining for various reasons ..... 1) the impact it could/would have on
the environment 2) the effect of our water... contamination as well as water pressure 3) the
noise ... and blasts... possibly damaging foundations of homes ... as the town itself is made up of
OLDER homes ... mine was built in 1942.... and possibly devalue the residents property!!! I
cannot see any advantages for the people/residents in our quaint small town to justify opening
up this mine. The disadvantages are too many to list...... therefore, I along w/the entire town
implore you to NOT open Parker Mine! Thank you for your consideration! I am Linda G.
