I am writing to you to let you know I am GREATLY opposed to the opening of Parker Mine! I
own a home @108 Oak Street; New London, N.C. 28127 which backs up to Hwy. 52.....I feel
this would gravely cause environmental issues to the area .... create noise issues... possibly
damage my foundation of my home built in 1942 by the constant blasting! I have concerns of
the water supply or contamination that this project would create as well!! I feel it would also
decrease the value of properties that could be affected! I am concerned w/the air
quality... surface water quality ... the residents would endure ... not to mention any wildlife being
affected b/cause of this action! Please DO NOT pass a permit which would gravely affect the
residents of this small quaint town on such adverse ways!! Thank you ..... I am Linda G.
