I have concerns about the old shafts caving in if they pump off the water, because the old mine shafts run under a large portion of the main part of New London. Will it dry up the creek that runs behind my property? This is a spring head fed out of the old gold mine and comes up just past the end of east Depot Street. There is an old vent shaft that also comes up there but was caved in when mine closed. Also where will the water go if they plan to pump out that many gallons per day? Also when Mr Shad opened it before it was under a conditional use permit from the town. I believe if you can get a copy of it you will find out he didn't do what he said he would do. It was suppose to be put back to as close to the way it was as when he started. There was 1000's of loads of dirt sold out of there. You can contact BRS in Richfield NC and they probably have records of it because they hauled most of it. I also believe they are located to close to railroad tracks to do any blasting. I believe there should be a public hearing and a lot more research done before you move forward with this Thanks Bill Rogers 309 E Depot Street New London, NC Sent from my iPad
