an
Please find attached pictures and mine inspection report for the permit application received in our
office. These comments are due tomorrow. I am scheduled to be on leave, but can check to see if
you have comments and require me to do any modifications. I will place the package in your office
chair along with the file. I offer the following comments on the application:
1. Elevations are shown on sheet 1 of 6 however they are so faint and small it is difficult to read.
Please provide legible elevations on the map.
2. Please provide a leader line identifying the blue area around the new mine area as a berm as
well as any diversions. Additionally it should be noted that the basin elevations will have to be
adjusted as mining progresses.
3. On sheet 5 of 6 silt fence outlets should be shown.
4. During my inspection, it was observed that two large areas (approximately 3 and 2 acres in
size) located within the proposed 300 acre tract to be removed from mining permit, were
eroding and in need of permanent groundcover. These two areas will need to be addressed
before a release can be made. Pictures have been attached in the inspection report.
Please advise of any additional comments.
Sincerely
Diane Adams
