I met a representative on site to guide me around the site. We did look at every pond and all of them had the same problem to some extent. The banks were not graded in accordance with the reclamation plan and several areas of erosion were identified. There was one pond located adjacent to the existing pond which was requested for release and % of that pond looked suitable, but again, there were areas where the banks had not been properly graded. The release form and mine map are a bit confusing to me in terms of how many acres are actually being requested for release. It appears they are requesting that 86.6 acres in the north west of the site be released. This area has not been disturbed, and is suitable for release. Pond areas are not suitable for release. There is an area of 12.1 acres of a wooded area that has not been disturbed and could be released. There is a good deal of debris, on above ground tank, buckets, rebar, pipes across the site and in wooded areas. The debris needs to be removed. The trailer identified on the map and in one of my photographs is within the active area, but does not appear to be a part of the mining operation. Clarification should be provided. Please let me know if modifications to the report are required before I send this to the operator or upload into IBEAM. Sincerely Diane Adams C.
