1. Question: has Adam Parr examined the potential run off from mining operations into Scott
Creek (Trent River), contamination to ground water and the new Jones County Well as it affects
fish, wild life, individual wells.
2. What control of sediment is in place? NC engineering committed that the two violations 15A
NCAC 13.113.0566 and 15A NCAC13B.0566 due to erosion control were minor noncompliance
violations. These two violations should be a concern due to potential issues for my two
points.
3. What happens to controlling standing water? What will be in place of prevention of mosquitos
or other unwanted organisms accumulating and pass on to the ground water, wells, creeks and
rivers?
4. It is understood that in the future the site would become a lake. It is my understanding that in
earlier mining it did not hold water. What happens if the site will not hold water? What is in
place of prevention of a dump site?
5. What land scaping, fencing and gates will be in place to protect the wild life and to screen out
operations. This requirement is in place for solar farms and so why not mining operations?
6. Why does the state find it unimportant the affect on resident property values? The county may
need to review its zoning for the future to protect their residents.
