Do not click links or open attachments unless you verify. Send all suspicious email as an attachment to Report Spam. I will attempt to attend the Teams meeting today at 1:30, but may have conflicts that prevent me from doing so. My input, if requested, will be to request the following information: 1. Has the existing groundwater at the site been evaluated as to quality? 2. What will be the impacts on groundwater at the site and in the surrounding area resulting from the proposed mining operation? 3. What company has performed evaluations as to the impacts on groundwater from the proposed mining operation and what reports, if any, are available that describe these impacts? In summary, it is believed the mining permit applicant should be responsible to determine/evaluate existing groundwater characteristics at the site and in the area and how those characteristics may be impacted from the proposed mining operation. In particular, the potential impacts with respect to future operation of the County's new Wells 9 and 10 and Water Treatment Plant should be addressed by the applicant. It has taken several years for the County to plan and construct the new wells and Water Treatment Plant and at a significant cost. The new wells and Water Treatment Plant are essential for the County's compliance with Central Coastal Plains Capacity Use Area requirements. Any and all new developments in proximity to Wells 9 and 10 and Water Treatment Plant that could possibly impact groundwater should be thoroughly vetted and determined not to be a threat or in conflict with future operations of Wells 9 & 10 and the new Water Treatment Plant.
