RE: An application by Tim Morton Trucking, LLC for a new surface mine in Jones
County
To whom it may concern
We are residents of the "River Tides on the Trent" Subdivision in Pollocksville
Township of Jones County.
We are respectfully asking for a public hearing to be held concerning this new
mine and the operator, Tim Morton Trucking, LLC. This is particularly important
to us as this mine will have a direct and detrimental impact on Scott Farm Lane,
our right-of-way to and from our homes.
A public hearing will also allow us to learn more about this project and
express other concerns such as the potential for :
• Ground water and well contamination
• Surface water contamination and flooding
• Dust, air, and noise pollution
• Diminished property values
• Scott Creek runoff contamination- (a fish nursery for the Trent River less
than 500 feet from the mining site)
