Partial Release of 5-acers at Mulberry/Moore Pit, Site#14-13
Caldwell County
Action.
permit has been modified to partially release the 5.00-acre area as indicated on the Mine Map received
by the Department on May 18, 2022.
On June 17,2022,the site where inspected by Shawna Riddle, Environmental Specialist II,from the
Asheville Regional Office,and found the request 5-acers to be release had have been reclaimed.
Decision. The site visits confirm that subject site is satisfactory reclaimed part of the permitted area.
During this process one of the securities which had been posted expired.The remaining security is
adequate to cover the company obligations.
. It is recommended that the partial release be approve. No securities should be returned, but the
Program's records ne d to be change the re a changee in
bonding amount.
