On November 23,2020 DEMLR CO, mining permitting unit received a signed released request from Marty R Told, Heir to Weldin Todd,for Release of Todd Pit No.4, Mine Permit Number 10-65. Area to be released is 22.01 acres. Inspection Results.On March 12, 2021, Caroline Dalis from the Wilmington Regional Office, conducted a site inspections and confirmed the site had been reclaimed. The Wilmington office also received and email on February 23,2021 from the current owner accepting the condition of the site. Decision. The site visit and the inspection report confirms that subject site is satisfactory reclaimed. As documented in this memorandum,the Mining Program recommends release of 22.01 acres.The amount of security was$17,600.00.The security is an Assignment Saving account from BB&T. Other recommendations and comments: At the time of the site visit,NC DEMLR personnel observed that the slopes along the south-southwestern portion of the property had been regraded and stabilized with vegetative groundcover. In addition,the property owner, Mr.Chad Yaw submitted an email to the Wilminglon Regional Office on February 23, 2021 concerning the current condition of the slopes along the mine which states "I would like to respectfully submit this letter as my acceptance of the condition of the property located at 876 Makatoka Road Supply, NC 28462, as is. At the time of this letter, all slopes, hills and drainage areas have _,round cover and are acceptable." Therefore, based on the stabilization efforts performed on the slopes of the mine and the response provided by the property owner, NC DEMLR personnel recommends the release of the Permit and the Bond associated with this mine.The mining activities appear completed and the site reclaimed 21.
