Release of Riverfront Company LLC,dba Navassa Sand Co
Mine Permit Number 10-37
Brunswick County
Request.
On July 6,2022, Central Office received a signed released request from Nathan Sander, manager of the
property,for the release of the Navassa Sand Mine, Mine Permit Number 10-37.
On September 29, 2021,Creighton Brown, Env.Specialist i,of the Wilmington Regional Office inspected
the Navassa Sand Mine and found it was releasable.
Area to be released is 61.8 acres.The sites permit expired on July 7,2006.
Inspection Results.Creighton Brown, Env.Specialist I,of the Wilmington Regional Office inspected the
Navassa Sand Mine and confirmed the site had been reclaimed.
Decision. The site visited and the inspection report confirms that subject site is satisfactory reclaimed.
As documented in this memorandum,the Mining Program recommends release of 61.8-acres.The
amount of security was$36,100.00.The security was a Surety Bond from Hanover Insurance Company.
The security is to be returned to Hanover Insurance Company.
