A detailed review of the current site conditions against your mine application documents has revealed the following deficiency that requires your attention: • An existing former farm road with an existing creek culvert has been used to access both sides of the creek for site development. Rip-rap stabilization has been placed on the road, as shown in the picture below, taken October 28, 2021. North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality I Division of Energy,Mineral and Land Resources Winston-Salem Regional Office 1 450 Hanes Mill Road,Suite 3001 Winston-Salem,North Carolina 27105 336-776-9800 Notice of Deficiency Alamance Quarry and Construction Materials Quarry November 12, 2021 Page 2 of 2 You clarified on-site that use of this existing road is only for site development. The use of this existing road and culvert is expected only until the installation of the arch culvert, and the arch culvert will be operational prior to production of material for sale. Once the arch culvert is installed, it is expected that the rip-rap will be removed from the existing road and the area reclaimed to a stabilized condition. Your cooperation is appreciated.
