Please find the response to your February 28, 2024 request for additional information below: 1. Please add the applicant's name to the mine map, Trent Locklear, and please add the full name of the mine as it is shown on the application, Lonnie Locklear Jr. Hwy 72 Mine, to the mine map. The mine map has been revised to reflect this information (see attached). 2. Please refer to Section D of the mine permit application and provide a reclamation map that clearly illustrates the reclamation plan for the entire site. The map should clearly illustrate the post mining use of the entire site. It should also include all italicized items listed in the application. The mine map has been revised to illustrate the reclamation plan for the entire site (see attached). I also revised pages 9, 10, 12 and 13 of the application (see attached), to better describe disturbed and undisturbed buffers, as well as the slopes associated with the vegetated berm, and the reclamation plan. 3. The berm for visual screening that lies along Highway 72 is shown to be in an "undisturbed buffer." Undisturbed buffers are not permitted to have any activity whatsoever. Please clarify if this buffer is intended to be unexcavated (no excavation, but roadways, berms, ad erosion & sedimentation control measures may be installed within) or undisturbed (no activity). Please clearly label the type of buffer on the mine map. The mine map has been revised to reflect that area as a disturbed buffer (see attached). 4. Please show all Erosion and Sediment Control (E&SC) measures on the mine map including diversion ditches, silt fence, etc. The mine map has been revised to reflect E&SC measures (see attached). There is one existing ditch and an in line sediment trap within the ditch in the southeast corner of the project site. While we don't think we will need it, they will be left in place and will remain after reclamation. 5. Please provide construction drawings and maintenance requirements for all E&SC measures and for the construction entrance. Please see Sheet 2 of 2. 6. Please provide additional details for the activity that will occur in the waste disposal area. Please provide proposed cross section clearly indicated the intended side slope gradient, installation of any benches and/or slope drains (with supporting design information) if needed, and the method of final stabilization. The mine map has been revised to include a profile drawing of the waste disposal area (see attached). 7. Please clarify the E&SC measures that will be utilized around the waste disposal area. Please clearly identify and label on the mine map. Other than silt fence around the south and west side of the waste disposal area, we are not proposing any E&SC measures around the area, as it will mainly consist of broken concrete, rock, etc. The mine plan has been revised to depict the location of the silt fence (see attached). 8. Please provide construction drawings and maintenance requirements for the construction entrance. Please see Sheet 2 of 2 of the mine plan. I hope the information found within and attached to this email is sufficient to address your RFAI. However, should you have any questions or need anything further, please call me at 910.228.1841.
