Hanson has been gathering data from a dust monitor installed by Vibra Tech at the body shop
property line since February 2021. This location is the closest offsite property to the pit stockpile
and plant processing area, which would be the largest dust emitter within our mining operation.
Attached are the monthly air quality monitoring results from February to date, as well as, an
attached letter from Vibra Tech summarizing its findings to date. All values fall well below the 150
ug/m3 requirement set forth in NCDEQ regulation 15A NCAC 02D .0409.
We acknowledge DEMLR's concerns about dust, but based upon (1) the success of our plant's
continuing overall site dust control efforts, (2) the comprehensive dust and screening mitigation
measures we have proposed as part of our pending mining permit modification request for the
construction of the concrete plant site and associated driveway, and (3)the attached favorable
results from four months of monitoring by a third party, we respectfully request that the
Department accept our dust and screening mitigation measures for the pending permit modification
as proposed without the need for additional dust control measures.

Hanson Aggregates North Raleigh Quarry in Raleigh, North Carolina for the time period of February 16,
2021 to present.The continuous monitoring PM10 station is located at 10225 US Hwy 1, Raleigh, NC. All
values fall well below the 150 µg/m3 requirement set forth in the NC DEQ regulation 15A NCAC 02D.0409.
