Dear Mr. Parr,
This letter is to address the items listed in your letter dated October 17, 2023, regarding our
application for a modification of existing mining permit 33-41 in Edgecombe County.
1. We have reached out to Edgecombe County planning department to confirm requirements for
mining within any floodplain. We are in the process of receiving this approval and will forward
once it has been received.
2. Copies of the certified mail receipts were sent by email to your attention on October 19, 2023.
3. The mine map has been updated to clearly define the existing conditions of the site. I have
added boundaries and shaded areas that have been mined. The haul road to our existing mining
area has also been shown to clearly depict how we are moving material from the site. Lastly, I
labeled the field within the property limits that is outside of the permitted area as such to define
the limits of our pit boundary more clearly.
4. 1 have added a heavier black line outlining the entire permit boundary. I also added more
"permit boundary" wording around the site to identify all boundaries of the permitted area.
5. 1 have shown the vegetated berms along all property lines/permit boundaries that are adjacent
to residential areas. I also added a detail for the berm showing height, width, etc.
6. 1 have added a berm along the inside of the undisturbed buffer in the area closest to Burrus Pl.
As noted above,the small field that is directly adjacent to these properties is outside of the
permit boundary.
