Dear Adam Parr, I am writing to express my strong opposition to the proposed Martin
Marietta Materials Mine expansion, located just 3 miles West of Fuquay-Varina near
Buckhorn-Duncan Road. As an adjoining property owner, I am deeply concerned about the
grave impact that this expansion will have on the environment, residents, and the wildlife in
the area. I understand that this expansion will create a devastating scar on the landscape
and expose the area to long-standing environmental issues. It also harms the wildlife in the
area and decreases the quiet enjoyment of our adjoining property. I strongly believe that
the proposed expansion will have a negative impact on the quality of life in the area and
should not be allowed. I am requesting, per public provision G.S. 74-51, a public hearing on
this matter to express my opposition to the expansion of this mine. I urge you to consider
the gravity of this situation and take necessary steps to protect the environment, residents,
and wildlife in the area. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
