Hi Dan,
I would like to voice my opposition to the proposed quarry for Wake Stone on public land located on the Odd
Fellows Tract adjacent to Umstead Park. We cannot afford to destroy the green spaces we have available for the
recreation and well being of the residents who live in the greater Raleigh areas. This is public land and therefore
the public should have a say in what happens to it. It is not appropriate for this land to be sold to Wake Stone
which would lead to destruction and pollution on not only Odd Fellows Tract, but Umstead Park. As citizens of
the U.S. we should be able to count on our government offices to ensure that public land is preserved for the
public and not sold off to the highest bidder. Dan, once this land is destroyed we will not be able to get it back.
We need to not only think about our local families, but also generations to come who will enjoy this land.
Thank you for your review and I hope that you will support the citizens asking for this land to be preserved.
