In issuing this permit the State of North Carolina certifies that
this project is consistent with the North Carolina Coastal
Management Program.

Dear Mr. Hansen:
Through coordination with Mr. Charles Pigott of the North Carolina
Division of Coastal Management, we have learned of your plans to repair and
construct docks and bulkheads on a manmade canal off Core Sound, Atlantic,
Carteret County, North Carolina.
On January 1, 1987, we renewed general permit No. CESAW-0082-N-000-0277
(enclosed) that authorizes excavation and filling; construction of piers,
docks, bulkheads, and boat ramps; placement of riprap and mooring pilings
within manmade basins, canals, or ditches located entirely on high ground; and
maintenance dredging of canals, channels, basins, and ditches in open waters
or marsh areas (with high ground disposal) in North Carolina.
Your proposed work is authorized if you can comply with all permit
conditions and the bulkhead alignments indicated by Mr. Pigott on May 2, 1990.
Please read the enclosed permit to prevent an unintentional violation of
Federal law.
