Reinforcing existing bulkhead on the south side of the property. The current wooden bulkhead needs reinforcing. The plan is to lay stabilizing fabric under rip rap, and to create a sandy marsh grass buffer extending 10-20 feet from the bulkhead. At low tide the bottom of the bulkhead is out of the water. At high tide there is approximately 12-18 inches of water. B. Along the west side of the house, east side of the boat basin, we are planning on extending the bulkhead utilizing vinyl material, post and anchors in the standard fashion, 128 ft from the south to the north. Dredge material will be used to backfill the new wall. This is vital in order to stabilize the bank next to the house. There is currently about 10 feet of land along the west side of the house. C. Repair of the dock that is currently in the boat basin along the east side. D. Dredge the neck of the basin approximately 3 feet deep, as well as the bowl of the basin. The total volume of dredge is estimated to be 133 cubic yards. A majority of the dredge material will be utilized as back fill for the new bulkhead, the rest of the spoils will be deposited in the immediate area. The bowl of the boat basin has approximately 2 feet of soft mud that needs to be removed. At high tide there is an average of 2 feet of water, at low tide 8-12" above the mud. The sounds depth at the end point of the dredge (south) at high tide is 2 feet E. A marsh tow revetment will be needed at the west side of the basin entrance to stabilize the grasses on the west side and to keep the basin channel open. Currently at low tide there is 4-6 inches of water flowing, at high tide 8-10 inches. F. We anticipate placing a dock out from the south bulkhead utilizing standard construction techniques 4feet wide by 108 feet long. The end of the dock would have an 8' X 12' deck. o , " oo, V t0 r 1h oP A r !.5FO - Q 3 ,ofl l a o s 5 LtS2 srORr T`+E-tfl _ -J 4, ti A FRAME 0 HOME guz h frEdD Sl R o S sURIANI s to STR4/TS I w x \ AS up~reo+ s THAT THE MTlt THAT THIS SAI vIS "M AM MID I FURTHER CM - A n M4T Ix iZ 2 , CCi2ol N LL JUL-25-2006 07:43 FROM:GARLICK 9193049138 t TO:12522473330 P.1/2 7o! i3awn1 FvJJ,. U G1np-✓—, 9 SC t JUG Z apz)a 006 MOrehead City OCM Pv 4`5 CtO '- ' N 4Wb C , -I, JUL-25-2006 07:44 FROM:GPRLICK 9193049132 TO:12522473330 P.2/2 July 25, 2006 Tere Barrett District Manager NC CAMA 400 Commerce Ave Morehead City, NC 28557 Dear Ms. Barrett: F 3253 Marrow Farm Lana Chapel Hal, NC 27516 919-3044167 .M IIAf4p:dAItKQA.tlII /More 2 sZoo6 head . Cj 41 °cM I am writing this letter to ask for a modification in the general permit we have at present for our property on Lucille Lewis Rd, Marshallberg, NC. We would like to extend the new bulkhead along the east side of the boat basin for a total of approx, 190ft, from the south to the north. The new length would bring the bulkhead close to the existing cement boat ramp that is on the north side of the basin. After clearing the brush In anticipation of the project it became apparent that the shoreline would not stabilize well if we stopped at the mid point of the basin as we had asked originally. The construction details are the same, using vinyl material in the standard fashion. Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter.
