ficer when the project is inspected for compliance. The applicant certi-
fies by signing this permit that 1) this project is consistent with the local
land use plan and all local ordinances, and 2) a written statement has
been obtained from adjacent riparian landowners certifying that they
have no objections to the proposed work.
In issuing this permit the State of North Carolina certifies that this project
is consistent with the North Carolina Coastal Management Program.

Re: Proposed Dock Work
Dear Mr.& Mrs. Hughes,
Enclosed please find a sketch of my dock with the proposed addition of four
pilings and a sign off letter for Coastal Management. The two pilings adjacent to the
existing dock are being added to prevent a boat from rising up and over or getting caught
below the dock during tide changes or a severe storm.
The two other pilings with guide boards are being installed to aid me in docking
my boat during windy conditions which is the rule rather than the exception. Neither set
of pilings are within 15 feet of your property line and I would appreciate your agreeing to
allow the addition of the pilings.
Please sign the Coastal Management form at the bottom and send it to the
Division of Coastal Management in the pre addressed and stamped envelopes enclosed
for your convenience.
