Box 659 Beaufort, NC 28516-0659 Dear Joe: This is in reference to your letter of November 20, 1992, concerning the proposed spoil disposal site on the Chadwick property in the Town of Beaufort. As you know, this site is to be used in conjunction with the maintenance excavation authorized by General Permits #C-10801 and #C-10911 which have been issued to the Beaufort Inn. Mr. David Noble of this office has discussed and identified appropriate highground areas on the Chadwick property with the dredging contractor, Mr. Dick Dolgas. As long as all spoils are placed on highground, there should be no conflict with CAMA Permit #121-91 or General Permits #C-10801 and #C-10911. If you have any questions concerning this, please contact me at my Morehead City office, (919) 726-7021. Sincerely, I Charles S. Jones District Manager CSJ/dh cc: Preston P. Pate, Jr. W. Mr. Dick Dolgas at 726-2191 will be doing the dredging for me. We anticipate no more than 500 cubic yards of spoil. We plan to start later this month and would remove the spoil before the end of January 1993 or sooner if you require. We need for you to write a letter to the Office of Coastal Management giving your approval for us to use the site for a spoil area. You should refer to General Permit No. 10801-C. You probably will want to give your permission on the condition that it does not have any negative effect on your permits and ask for a letter from them stating that it will not. If you will call me when you write the letter I will hand deliver it to the folks at the office of Coastal Management and I will bring their letter back to you. I appreciate so much your willingness to let us do this. Sin erely, Bruce Ethridge kte
