imprisonm-ent or civil action; and may cause the permit to be-
come null and void.

permit officer when the project is inspected for compliance.

The applicant certifies by signing this permit that 1) this pro-
ject is consistent with the local land use plan and all local
ordinances, and 2) a written statement has been obtained from
adjacent riparian landowners certifying that they have no
objections to the proposed work.
In issuing this permit the State of North Carolina certifies that
this project is consistent with the North Carolina Coastal
Management Program.

Dear Mr. Thomas:
Attached is General Permit #016356-C authorizing the maintenance excavation of the
canal/basin on your property off SR 1330 and Rice Avenue, adjacent the Bay River, near
Florence in Pamlico County. This permit authorizes you to conduct maintenance excavation in
an area measuring approximately 140' X 20' X -3', involving the removal of some 310 yds3.
The final project depths shall not exceed -4 below NWL. And the spoils must be placed on high
ground.
In order to validate this exemption, please sign all three (3) copies as indicated. Retain
the white copy for your files and return the yellow and pink signed copies to us in the enclosed,
self-addressed envelope.
I appreciate your concern and efforts in complying with the permit requirements of the
Division of Coastal Management. If you have questions about this permit or any related matters

existing canal on their property located on Bay River and Rice Avenue near Florence,
NC, in Pamlico County.
