sent of a CAMA official under the mistaken assumption that the
development is exempted, will be in violation of the CAMA if there
is a subsequent determination that a permit was required for the
development.
The applicant certifies by signing this exemption that (1) the ap-
plicant has read and will abide by the conditions of this exemp-
tion, and (2) a written statement has been obtained from adjacent
landowners certifying that they have no objections to the
proposed work.

This is in reference to the Certification of Exemption issued to
you on October 31, 1995 for the construction of a pier into the
Newport River at your property located at 220 Sandy Road, north of
the Town of Beaufort. According to our telephone conversation this
week, you are requesting a renewal of this authorization in order
to complete the construction of the pier.
Please be advise that this Certification of Exemption is hereby
extended until July 4, 1996. All general and specific requirements
of the previous Certification of Exemption must be adhered to.
Please contact me at my Morehead City office if you have any
questions concerning this.
