This permit is subject to compliance with this application, site
drawing and attached general and specific conditions. Any
violation of these terms may subject the permittee to a fine,
imprisonment or civil action; and may cause the permit to be-
come null and void.
This permit must be on the project site and accessible to the
permit officer when the project is inspected for compliance.
The applicant certifies by signing this permit that 1) this pro-
ject is consistent with the local land use plan and all local
ordinances, and 2) a written statement has been obtained from
adjacent riparian landowners certifying that they have no
objections to the proposed work.

Morehead City Terminal
Dear Mr. Jones:
The North Carolina State Ports Authority requests a CAMA
General Permit for the Morehead City Terminal. This general
permit would allow the installation of a barge fendering system
along Berth #9. The purpose of the fendering system is to prevent
cargo barges from drifting under the edge of Berth #9 during low
tides. A blueline print of the proposed fendering system was
delivered to your office on 2-13-96.
Enclosed is the $50.00 permit fee and a letter of no
objections from Mr. J.M. Davis the adjacent riparian property
owner. If any additional information is needed, please call me at
(910)343-6228.

GENERAL NOTE$:
1, THE OWNER SHALL HAVE ACCESS TO THE DOCK AT
ALL TIMES DURING DEMOLITION AND CONSTRUCTION OPERATIONS.
2. THE SEQUENCE OF THE CONSTRUCTION, SAFETY OF ALL
PERSONNEL, & CONSTRUCTION PRACTICES ARE THE SOLE
RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CONTRACTOR.
3. ACTUAL FIELD CONDITIONS MAY VARY FROM WHAT IS SHOWN.
THEREFORE THE CONTRACTOR SHALL VERIFY EXISTING
DIMENSIONS AND ELEVATIONS SHOWN ON 'THE DRAWINGS
AND SHALL FULLY RESOLVE ANY DISCREPANCIES PRIOR
TO COMMENCING ANY WORK.
4. ALL DAMAGE TO EXISTING CONSTRUCTION RESULTING FROM
DEMOLITION & CONSTRUCTION PROCEDURES SHALL BE
REPAIRED BY THE CONTRACTOR AT NO COST TO THE OWNER.
5. ALL ITEMS NOT CALLED OU1 AS "EXISTING' ARE NEW.
6. ALL HARDWARE (EXCEPT AS NOTED) SHALL BE HOT DIPPED
GALVANIZED, GALVANIZING SHALL BE A MIN. OF 6 mil DRY
FILM THICKNESS.
7. TENSION FENDER CHAINS TO ENSURE POSITIVE CONTACT WITH
NEW "D" SNAPPED FENDERS. SEE SPECIFICATIONS FOR
FENDER CHAIN PROPERTIES.
8. TIMBER PILE BUTTS MAY REQUIRE SHAVING/TRIMMING TO ENSURE
ESTABLISHED CLEARANCES ARE MAINTAINED. SHAVE/TRIM ONLY
THAT NESESSARY TO OBTAIN REQUIRED CLEARANCES. APPLY PRESERVATIVE
TO SHAVED/TRIMMED PILE BUTTS AS REQUIRED IN THE SPECIFICATIONS.
9. "D" SHAPED FENDER MANUFACTURER SHALL EITHER FABRICATE
FENDERS WITH 1"0 HOLES AS SHOWN OR PRE -PUNCH PRIOR
TO DELIVERY. FIELD CUTTING OF FENDERS SHALL NOT BE PERMITTED.
10. NEW TIMBER PILES ARE LOCATED TO AVOID EXISTING EXISTING BATTER PILES.
CONTRACTOR SHALL VERIFY THAT THE NEW PILE LOCATION IS CENTERED ON
THE EXISTING STRAIGHT PILES AS INTENDED AND SHOWN.
11. EXISTING HOLLOW CYLINDRICAL FENDERS SHALL BE REMOVED AND STORED,
IN AN APPROVED MANNER, DURING CONSTRUCTION. UPON COMPLETION OF
CONSTRUCTION, EXISTING FENDERS SHALL BE REINSTALLED,
