The purpose of this construction is to help stabilize the coastline along the lots I own and to reduce erosion. This should also help the property on both sides of the groin from strong wave action eating into the bank and eroding the sand and stabilizing marsh grasses. I have also attached copies of the coastal area management document explaining the limitations of such groins. The groins must be at least 15 feet from any adjoining property and not extend from the shore line any further than 25 feet into the water from the high water mark. I would appreciate your concurrence by signing the attached agreement and returning it to me in the enclosed envelope at your earliest convenience. Dear Mike, I received your letter regarding the wopden groins which you want to construct and have discussed the matter with Bruce Maness. We do not approve the construction of the wooden groins. Wooden groins are often destroyed by high tides and winds and can quickly become eyesores and water hazards. On an unrelated matter, we have not yet listed our lot, but it is for sale.
