As per our conversation regarding getting a CAMA permit to repair the pier
and docking facilities destroyed by Hurricane Isabel, the following five faxed
pages hopefully will provide the information you requested. I am not sure the
documents will fax very well so let me know if I should mail them to you or
need to provide you with other information. The property is a single family
residents with the physical address:
397 Oak Hammock Drive Harkers Island, NC 28531.
Please note we have never gotten mail at that address. Although we do have a
Harkers Island Post Office box and local phone number, please mail
correspondence and male inquiries to the above addresses and phone
number. We got stranded in the western part of the state by a previous
hurricane and have not made it back home yet.
The original pier was built in 1987 and expanded to a full 240 feet in 1990. It
was the first pier built in this area of Harkers Island, The pier and most of the
associated docking facilities were completed at this time as you hopefully
can see in the aerial photographs taken in 1994. An additional finger pier was
extended out to an existing piling some time after the photos were taken.
