Any violation of these terms may subject the permittee to a fine or criminal or civil action; and may cause the permit to become null and void. This permit must be on the project site and accessible to the permit officer when the project is inspected for compliance. The applicant certifies by signing this permit that 1) prior to undertaking any activities authorized by this permit, the applicant will confer with appropriate local authorities to confirm that this project is consistent with the local land use plan and all local ordinances, and 2) a written statement or certified mail return receipt has been obtained from the adjacent riparian landowner(s) . The State of North Carolina and the Division of Coastal Management, in issuing this permit under the best available information and belief, certifythatthis project is consistentwith the North Carolina Coastal Management Program. The project consists of the construction of a bulkhead, a ramp walkway, and a floating dock. The proposed project has been determined to comply with the Rules of the Coastal Resources Commission 15A NCAC 7H.1100 and 15A NCAC 7H.1200, and as such, a permit was issued on June 18, 2004 to authorize the development. I have enclosed a copy of the permit, as well as the relevant rules. If you wish to contest our decision to issue this permit, you may file a request for a Third Party Hearing. The request for a hearing will be considered by the Chairman of the Coastal Resources Commission. The hearing request must be filed with the Director, Division of Coastal Management, in writing and must be received within twenty (20) days after the disputed permit decision is made. I have enclosed the applicable forms and instructions that must be filed prior to that deadline.
