Statement of Compliance and Consistency
This permit is subject to compliance with this application, site drawing and attached general and specific conditions. Any
violation of these terms may subject the permittee to a fine or criminal or civil action; and may cause the permit to become
null and void.
This permit must be on the project site and accessible to the permit officer when the project is inspected for compliance. The
applicant certifies by signing this permit that 1) prior to undertaking any activities authorized by this permit, the applicant will
confer with appropriate local authorities to confirm that this project is consistent with the local land use plan and all local
ordinances, and 2) a written statement or certified mail return receipt has been obtained from the adjacent riparian
landowner(s) .
The State of North Carolina and the Division of Coastal Management, in issuing this permit under the best available
information and belief, certify that this project is consistent with the North Carolina Coastal Management Program.

I came to your office about one month ago to gather information about how to get
approval to extend my existing floating dock on Gallants Channel in Beaufort, NC .
Five years ago, I bought a lot on Ann Street, Beaufort, which came with a deeded
deep water slip on Gallants Channel. The slip even had a short floating dock which
was attached to a bigger floating dock which belonged to Mr. Michael Bradley of 102
Ann Street. I finished building a house on Ann Street and would now like to extend
my floating dock by about 22 feet.
I have included two Adjacent Riparian Property Owner Statements, signed and
initialed; I have included a signed statement by Mr. Mike Bradley, the owner of 102
Ann Street and I have included a drawing of the existing dock and proposed
extension (not exactly to scale!).
To explain the drawing, B stands for Bradley property, E stands for existing dock, P
stands for existing piling and G stands for Gallants Channel. The area in yellow
would be the extension of my dock.
I will send all this information to you and hope you will have a chance to look at the
existing dock and I hope that you will be able to give me your approval to allow me
to extend my dock to a more usable length!
