and AIWW as requested in the permittee's letter dated 8/3/20.
This permit, issued on January 20, 2021 , is subject to compliance with the application (where consistent
with the permit), all applicable regulations, special conditions and notes set forth below. Any violation of these terms may

1) This Renewal shall be attached to the original of Permit No. 151-01, which was issued on 11/28/01,
as well as all subsequent modifications, refinements and renewals, and copies of all documents shall
be readily available on site when Division personnel inspect the project for compliance.
2) All conditions and stipulations of the active permit remain in force, including all timing restrictions.
3) Excavation shall not exceed-8.5'MLW (-6.5' with -2' overdredge) in Mason Inlet and Mason Creek
and —14 MLW (-12' with -2' overdredge) in the AIWW crossing and widener.

This permit action may be appealed by the permittee or
other qualified persons within twenty (20) days of the issuing
date.
This permit must be accessible on -site to Department
personnel when the project is inspected for compliance.
Any maintenance work or project modification not covered
hereunder requires further Division approval.
All work must cease when the permit expires on
December 31, 2025
In issuing this permit, the State of North Carolina agrees
that your project is consistent with the North Carolina Coastal
Management Program.

4) This Renewal continues to authorize beach nourishment activities to be carried out one (1) time along
the entire reach of the requested nourishment area. Any request to carry out additional activities within
an area where nourishment activities have been completed under this permit shall require further
modification of the permit.
NOTE: This permit does not eliminate the need to obtain any additional state, federal or local permits,
approvals or authorizations that may be required.
NOTE: A renewal application processing fee of $100 was received by DCM for this project.
NOTE: The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers assigned the proposed project COE Action Id. No. SAW
1999-01052.
NOTE: The N.C. Division of Water Resources assigned the proposed project DWR Project No. 000008.

Major Permit Renewal Requests
Dear Ms. Coats:
New Hanover County (NHC) has two NC Division of Coastal Management (NCDCM)
Major Permits that will expire 31 December 2020, the Mason Inlet Relocation Project
(MIRP) and the Carolina Beach Inlet including the Inshore Dredge Material
Management Site (IDMMS). NHC is requesting renewals for both NCDCM Major Permit
authorizations.
NHC requests a ten-year maintenance renewal of the NCDCM Major Development
Permit # 151-01 for the MIRP, originally issued on 28 November 2001. The project's
scope of work has not changed and all current conditions remain applicable.
NHC also requests a ten-year maintenance renewal of the NCDCM Major Development
Permit # 50-16 for the Carolina Beach Inlet and IDMMS, originally issued 5 May 2016.
The project's scope of work has not changed and all current conditions remain
applicable.
The NCDCM's $100.00 Major Permit renewal fees are being processed and will be
mailed to the Regional Office at your attention. Please feel free to call.
