WATER * SEWER NOTES
I . Potable water supply and sewage treatment to be by the Town of Surf City.
2. Location of existing water mains and sewage force main
are approximate only and shall be field verified prior to
commencing work. Any discrepancies should immediately
be pointed out to the certifying Engineer, Onslow County
Water Department and NTW*5.
3. As of January I, 198G, anyone digging with mechanized equipment
in highway right-of-way, private utility easements, or public spaces
will be required by North Carolina law to give notice of the proposed
excavation to all the existing area utilities at least 2 working days
before starting to dig. The utility owner 15 to locate its facilities
in the area of the proposed excavation. Utility members of ULOCO
can be contacted at 1-800-G32-4949.
4. Flood zone information taken from F.1.R.M. Panel: CPN 37018G 0008 D

10. A minimum vertical separation of 12 in. shall be provided where storm
drainage pipes cross the sanitary sewer mains (mcluding sewage force main),

I I . Contractor shall notify the certifying Engineer, and the Town of Surf City
at least 48 hours prior to commencing any work, inspections, sampling
and pressure tests.
12. Chlorination and pressure tests required in the presence of the
certifying Engineer and the Town of Surf City Utilities Department.
13. Contractor shall furnish negative bacterial analysis results and 24 hour
chlorine residual results to the certifying engineer for final acceptance.
14. Contractor shall maintain comprehensive (depth and horizontal locations)
field "a5-budt5" for all installations and submit them to the certifying
Engineer.
15. All units have individual sewer services installed by the contractor:
Water services are to be installed by the contractor in accordance with the
Town of .Surf City requirements. The. Town of Surf City Utilities Department will
install the water meter at a later date on an as -needed basis.
I G. All construction within D-O-T right-of-way shall be in accordance with the
NCDOT requirements. D-O-T officials shall be notified 48 hours prior to
commencing work within the right-of-way.
17. All water installation materials and practices shall meet the Town of Surf
City specifications.
18. All disturbed areas to be seeded or stabilized within 15 days of
completion of work.
