Good afternoon Martin,
In response to your concerns and questions, I will paste them below and provide my
answers (in red).
I still have several concerns in relation to this permit request.
• compliance - I want to confirm that if this permit is approved it is in conformance
with all pertinent state and local regulations --will we be informed in the permit request is
NOT in conformance; and will the permit be denied if the request is non -conforming ? - A
site visit was conducted on 8/23/2024 where I met with Doug Dorman of Atlantic
Environmental Consultants. During this visit I observed that the shoreline contained fringe
of coastal wetlands. The proposed riprap conforms to the 15A 07H .2400 Standards
(attached) for a CAMA general permit to place a 6' wide strip of riprap along the waterward
side of the wetlands for protection. When permits are issued, there is an understanding by
the applicant that DCM will monitor the development, and when finished, conduct a
compliance site visit. If the riprap has not been installed in the manner that was
permitted, then a Notice of Violation may be issued, and restoration of the affected area
may also be requested to bring the development back into compliance with regulations.
• erosion - I am concerned about the potential impact (i.e. erosion) this may create on
my property. — While I understand your concerns, I need to know if you are formally
objecting to the proposed development, and which development you are objecting to (i.e.
riprap only, the proposed dwelling, or both). In the event of an objection, if the proposed
development meets the CAMA regulations, we are bound to issue a permit over the
objection. In the case of a permit issuance over an objection, the objecting party will be
sent a letter stating that the permit has been issued. The objecting party will then have the
opportunity to appeal the permit decision by filing for a third -party hearing request if they
so choose to. The objecting party will have 20 days to file the appeal upon permit
issuance. If you do not object, then the permit will be issued without further notification
and monitoring and compliance will occur as described above.

I am a trustee of the Bess N Coffee Marital Trust, owner of the adjoining property at 120 Edgewater
Drive. I am not presently located in Camden County, and I have no knowledge of the pertinent state
and local guidelines governing the permit request.

I subsequently contacted Doug Dorman of Atlantic Environmental Consultants, LLC and received his
reply via email.
