The development is proposed for single family home sites. Streets will be constructed to NCDOT standards. Domestic water will be supplied by Beaufort County Water Corporation. This project will also consist of constructing 340 feet of pier with 10 boat slips, boat ramp, 5 jetties, secured boat storage lot, 1200 feet of boardwalk and a recreation area. The pier, boat slips, boat ramp, boat storage, boardwalk and recreation area will be for community use only. Since the first issuance of this letter, a few things have been modified. The proposed pier and boat ramp have moved to the west side of the property between lots 15 & 16. In order to allow enough room for the pier&ramp, we had to revise some of the lot lines. The configuration of the pier has also changed. See Cama Permit drawings C 1 & C2 for details. A CAMA Major Permit is required for the marine construction proposed at this project. If you have any further questions or comments, please contact our office. Sincerely, Howard Nichols, Project Manager The East Group, P.A. ENGINEERING ARCHITECTURE SURVEYING TECHNOLOGY Since 1975,servicing clients worldwide MEMORANDUM -Zi-3 AUG 2 17003 WORM-N TO: Doug Huggett 171 RAC THROUGH: Terry Moore FROM: David Moye `'1 DATE: 20 August 2003 SUBJECT: Modification of CAMA Major Permit No. 16-03 issued to Charleston Associates, LLC CAMA Major Permit No. 16-03 was issued to Charleston Associates, LLC, C/O Charles Smith for the construction of a 80 lot subdivision (Whitehurst Shores Subdivision) at the end of SR 1167 at Core Point on the Pamlico River near the Blount's Creek Community in Beaufort County, North Carolina. The permit authorized the construction of a bulkhead along the waterfront, a boardwalk over wooded wetlands and a 10 slip pier with a boat ramp on the common lot at the east end of the project site. Presently, the bulkhead has been completed and the common lot was bulkhead without a boat ramp or pier being constructed. The East Group, acting as agent, has requested a modification of the permit to move the location of the pier and boat ramp to a new common lot at the west end of the project site between lots 15 and 16 (see attached plat). The new common lot is f 100' long and the pier platform and finger piers have been adjusted to fit within the 400 ft2 maximum allowed by rule. The new common lot has an existing boat ramp that the applicant proposes to remove, and construct a new 15' wide by 30' long ramp beside it, and replace the old ramp with riprap in line with the existing riprap shoreline on this site. The applicant also proposes to add granite riprap to the existing riprap on the common lot. I suggest that we modify the permit to allow the requested changes and allow the existing conditions to remain including the 31 December 2006 expiration date. The $100 check covering the cost of the modification has been deposited in the Department's account.
