Melo and Wayfarers Cove Marina and Beach, LLC, please accept this letter as a permit renewal request for CAMA Major Permit #132-05 issued to Wayfarers Cove Marina & Beach, LLC. I am requesting the permit be extended for an additional two years pursuant to 15A NCAC O7J.O4O4(b). This permit was originally issued on August 22, 2005 through the Express Permit Program and authorized 20 condo units, 48 town homes, 23 single family lots, a commercial building, community center, pool, boatyard, dockmaster/ship store, access roads, parking areas, and rip rap along Wayfarers Cove. It was modified on April 25, 2008 authorizing a change in upland development from condominium, town home, commercial complex to 93 single-family homes, clubhouse and tennis court, along with changes to roads, parking areas, and sidewalks. Although the shutdown of 2020 and the material supply shortage of 2021 impacted the work on the project, substantial development has been undertaken. Specifically, the work on the roads, parking areas, and basin bulkheading (originally authorized as rip rap) is well underway. Substantial development is ongoing on this permit as well as on CAMA Major Permit #109-84, but it will not be completed before the permit expires simply because of the size of the project. There are currently no change in plans for permit #132-05 and there has been no change in ownership of the property since the last renewal on December 12, 2019. 1 have enclosed a check for $100, made payable to the North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality. Thank you for your consideration and I look forward to talking with you in the near future. If you have any questions, I can be reached at 252-725-5615 and at ttyndall@ec.rr.com. Sincerely, M.
