Dear Ms. Babson:
This is with reference to your request to modify State Permit#44-05 which was issued to the Town of Shallotte on
April 13, 2005, and will expire on December 31,2008. The action proposed in your submittal is the separation of the 10' x
20' Gazebo and the 8' x 6' floating dock and ramp. The ramp would extend from the upper limits of Coastal
vegetation/mean high water line waterward to an 8' x 6' floating dock and would be located in the same location as
originally permitted. The Gazebo would be the same dimensions but would be relocated landward approximately 7 feet and
the 6' x 55' boardwalk would be eliminated.Upon reviewing the submittal and contacting our Major Permits Processing
Coordinator,I have determined that the proposed action is consistent with existing State rules and regulations and is in
keeping with the original purpose and intent of the permit.
I hereby submit this Letter of Refinement authorizing the modification of State Permit#44-05 as described in your
letter dated October 7,2005, including work plan drawings dated received on October 12, 2005. By copy of this letter we
are also notifying the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers of our action.
Also, we are returning your check no. 009745 in the amount of$100.00, as there is not a fee required for a letter of
refinement.

RE: Minor Modification Permit # 44-05
Dear Mr. Gregson,
The Town of Shallotte is asking for a minor modification to our Permit #
44-05. I have attached the original drawing submitted for this project along
with the new revised drawing.
The Town of Shallotte's goal is to better service the public use of this
park. The separation of the Gazebo and the ramp will give the ability to have
both structures in use at the same time without any interference for the
different activities.
The Town of Shallotte has submitted a check for $ 100.00 for this minor
modification change to our plan. Thank you for time and patience.
