Detailed Observations:
1. CDC excavator was not observed arranging stones today (3/11). CDC said some stones were placed before on -site
representative arrived, however, they ceased operations due to mechanical issues. CDC crew left site around
12:00. Will return Monday (3/14).
2. Sheet pile installation was not being conducted today (3/11).
3. CDC was seen constructing a sand ramp covered with rubber mats and wooden planks over a portion of the sheet
pile wall near Sta. 2+70 (See Photo #2).
4. Flatbed truck carrying rubber mats and an excavator bucket was seen leaving construction site (See Photo #5).
5. Asphalt damage was observed at intersection of E 4th Street and Shallotte Blvd (See Photo #6). Asphalt damage
was also observed at intersection of E 4th Street and Columbia Street (See Photo #7). Asphalt damage was also
observed at intersection of E 3rd Street and Shallotte Blvd (See Photo #8).
Items Discussed with Contractor's Superintendent, Surveyor, Regulatory Agencies, ... etc.:
1. Sam Lohman (CPE) spoke with Steve (CDC) about construction operations today (3/11). Steve stated he
placed some stone this morning, but the GPS and positioning system cord broke on his excavator preventing
him from arranging anymore stone. He stated a repair man would be on -site Monday (3/14) to resolve the
issue. He stated CDC crew will return to construction site Monday (3/14).
Were any issues identified today which may result in a field adjustment report, contract modification,
request for interpretation, or noncompliance? If so, describe:
1. No issues were discussed today.
