The North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission is applying for a CAMA general permit to repair the
breakwater and bulkhead located at the 120 Midway Drive Boating Access Area, in Chowah County,
North Carolina. The specifics of the proposed work are in the enclosed waiver forms and drawings.
As the adjacent riparian property owner to the aforementioned project, I am required to notify you of the
development in order to give you the opportunity to comment on the project. Please review the attached
waiver form and drawings. The bulkhead repairs will be for the entire length of the bulkhead which
concludes at the edge of your property. In order to complete the repair, we will also need you to waive the
15-ft setback. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
Should you have any objections to this proposal, please send your written comments to Cynthia Rountree,
401 S. Griffin St., Ste. 300, Elizabeth City, NC, 27909, within 10 days of your receipt of this notice. Such
comments will be considered by the Department in reaching a final decision on the application. No

Good morning Chris,
If the bulkhead is being replaced within the existing footprint, it appears that it would be
considered repair & maintenance. In this case we would issue a R&M exemption. If it is to
be replaced 2' waterward of the existing, then we can issue a 07H .1100 general permit for
it.
For the replacement of the 90' breakwater, I would say the 07H .2000 general permit
would be appropriate.
I'm attaching the use standards for both permits mentioned above. Once you are ready to
move forward with the permitting, just contact Cynthia and I and one of us will process
the request.

I am writingtodayto discuss the Midway Boating Access breakwater repair project, specifically the repair of the
breakwaters associated with the property at 142 Midway Dr, Edenton, NC 27932. This repair is needed as the sheet
pile walls that are in place currently have eroded due to wave action and recent storm activity. We have funding to
complete the repairs and the intent is to complete the breakwater repair this summer around June (depending on
schedules),I have included preliminary plans along with a Google Earth pin indicating the project's location as
attachments to this email.
I want to run this by you and get your feedback on the project before we begin getting neighboring approval and the
permit processed.
If there is any additional information you need from me, please do not hesitate to let me know.
