This letter is intended to notify you of the issuance of CAMA General Permit No. 89044 for
proposed development by Michael Pascale, located at 985 Ocean Forest Court, in Corolla,
Currituck County. The authorized project consists of the construction of a 5'xl45' pier, a 12'x15'
covered platform, and a 7'xl3' fixed platform (a lower deck). The proposed project has been
determined to comply with the Coastal Area Management Act and/or State Dredge & Fill Law,
and the Rules of the Coastal Resources Commission, specifically the development is consistent
with North Carolina Administrative Code 07H.1200 (attached). As such, a permit has been issued
to authorize the development. I have enclosed a copy of the permit for reference.
If you wish to contest our decision to issue this permit, you may file a request for a Third -Party
Appeal pursuant to N.C.G.S. § 113A-121.1(b). The Chair of the Coastal Resources Commission
will consider the case and determine whether to grant your request to file a Contested Case Hearing
in the Office of Administrative Hearings. The hearing request must be filed with the Director of
the Division of Coastal Management in writing (email or hard copy) and must be received within
twenty (20) days of the disputed permit decision. More information about this process as well as

Dear Mr. Mitchell,
This email will confirm our conversation of today concerning the
proposal to build a pier on our neighbors lot at 985 Ocean Forest
Court in Corolla, NC.
I am objecting to its construction based on the fact that I believe
it encroaches
on the raparian line. Thirty years ago when we built our home
there was much more land in the sound - I estimate that over the
years about 30 feet of land has washed away and with the lines of
4 lot owners converging it is hard to believe that they are not
encroaching on the riparian line. Also, the proposed Mid-
Currituck bridge is proposed to hit land about 125 yards north of
this pier. What a mess!
Finally, I have not received a diagram of the 4 lot owners (names
and addresses) showing exactly where the lines are and where the
pier will be - the diagram I was sent does not work for me.
Thanks for your help and please let me know how I am to
proceed.
