KW 13' event- but first use of Miss Katie and first dredging of new channel
Lot of discussion about cables- are believed to be above -15' elev
Applied a 100' buffer along all sides
100 ' buffer from SAV also shown- distances shown
2 channel segments to be dredged- porb focusing more on southern section east of the cable
Some 7' depths 200' stretch
Pre -con process- coordinate with OITF and EJE/Miss katie
Coordinating with agencies and ACE nav
Hope to start work tomorrow
Will file report at end
Jordan decent weather window- just finished up a week at OI (24 hrs)
En route and plan to be there from 6-10 days
Just get familiarized with channels and AIWW and do some work before window
Intent is to come back again before March
KW @me- already covered everything- just a confirmation of the moratorium, max dredge depth,
buffers, all excavation and placement to occur only in approved areas, and sidecast only to be
done to create pilot channel for hopper dredging
believe intent that just going to use the hopper dredge- knowing can change quickly -
Not allowed to dredge onto shoals — so something for EJE to be aware of
@JP- says 1500' off Ocracoke in -10' water- ACE has provided shape
@EJE- let them know if encounter unsafe area- may need to coordinate adjustment with us
Who made the oval?
KW believe back in 2016

TH basically what original authorization was- said at least 1500' from end of island from 10-14'
depths
Would go out and survey to find- but target that oval area
KW also language about NARW monitoring— know if they can verify whether they have to observe
protocols
Jp have recent guidance that can provide- once in ocean NARW monitoring comes into play
TH same issue- get emails and coordinates are automated messages can receive

As far as SAV monitoring- agencies have asked that SAV monitoring be conducted prior to
moratorium- and if dredging in season, a post -project report be provided
Will conduct conditional SAV survey where channel is within 1000' of previously mapped SAV
And if dredge within 1000' will resurvey- plan to do in March
And will provide coordinates of DA to Jordan
Allen in dump site- has there been any recent placement
