THIS PROJECT INVOLVES EXTENDING APPROXIMATELY 0.2 MILES OF ASPHALT PAVED BIKE PATH
ALONG THE SOUTHERN SHOULDER OF INC HIGHWAY 58 FROM OCEAN DRIVE TO PARK STREET.
1. ALL CONSTRUCTION SHALL BE IN ACCORDANCE WITH ALL RELATIVE SECTIONS OF CURRENT TOWN OF EMERALD ISLE
SEDIMENT RUNOFF DURING CONSTRUCTION IS EXPECTED TO BE MINIMAL DUE TO SANDY SOILS
AND NCDOT STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS AND DETAILS IN EFFECT AT TIME OF PLAN APPROVAL. ALL APPLICABLE
AND HIGH INFILTRATION RATES. THIS IS A LINEAR PROJECT WITHIN WHICH THE LIMITS OF
NCDENR-DWQ AND CAMA PERMITS SHALL BE ISSUED PRIOR TO START OF CONSTRUCTION.
CONSTRUCTION WILL BE CONFINED TO A RELATIVELY NARROW CORRIDOR.
2. TOPOGRAPHIC AND DESIGN SURVEY INFORMATION SHOWN HEREON IS BASED UPON SURVEY INFORMATION PROVIDED
SEDIMENT RUNOFF IS TO BE CONTROLLED PRIMARILY BY THE USE OF SILT FENCE AND SILT
BY PRESTIGE LAND SURVEYING, DATED JUNE, 2009. THE LOCATIONS OF ALL EXISTING UTILITIES, STRUCTURES AND
FENCE OUTLETS AS SHOWN ON THESE PLANS.
IMPROVEMENTS SHOWN ON THE DRAWINGS MAY NOT HAVE BEEN FIELD VERIFIED AND IN SOME CASES, THE
LOCATIONS ARE APPROXIMATE. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL NOTIFY RESPECTIVE UTILITY OWNERS AND FIELD VERIFY
TOTAL DISTURBED AREA IS APPROXIMATELY 0.8 ACRES, AS COMPUTED BY COORDINATES.
LOCATIONS OF EXISTING UTILITIES AND OTHER IMPROVEMENTS PRIOR TO COMMENCING ANY CONSTRUCTION. IF THE
LOCATIONS SHOWN ARE CONTRARY TO THE ACTUAL LOCATIONS, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL NOTIFY THE TOWN OF
RUNOFF FROM THIS SITE IS TRIBUTARY TO ARCHER CREEK, BOGLE SOUND & ATLANTIC OCEAN.
EMERALD ISLE AND ENGINEER OF THE DISCREPANCY. THIS DISCREPANCY SHOULD BE RESOLVED PRIOR TO
COMMENCING CONSTRUCTION, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL EXERCISE EXTREME CAUTION WHEN WORKING IN AREAS NEAR
EXISTING UTILITIES AND IMPROVEMENTS AND SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR, AND SHALL REPAIR OR PAY FOR, ALL
DAMAGE MADE TO EXISTING UTILITIES OR OTHER IMPROVEMENTS. PRIOR TO COMMENCEMENT OF ANY CONSTRUCTION,
THE CONTRACTOR SHALL VERIFY ALL GRADES, INVERTS AND TYPE OF MATERIAL OF EXISTING UTILITIES TO WHICH HE
SHALL CONNECT.
