We have reviewed the information submitted to this office for a Dunes and Vegetation Permit and find
that the activity you propose is exempt from needing a Minor Development Permit under the Coastal Area
Management Act as long as it meets the conditions as specified below. If your plans should change and your
project will not longer meets these conditions, please contact me before proceeding.
A single-family residence or addition must be located more than 40' landward of the mean high-water
mark, or normal water level within the Estaurine Shoreline Area of Environmental Concern. No land disturbing
activity may occur within that 40-foot buffer zone other than construction of a 6-foot wide access to the
water. If the lot in question is in an eroding area, the residence must be built the maximum feasible distance back
on the lot, but not less than 40 feet.
Sincerely,
Carol Angus
