Ref: Adjacent Riparian Property Owner Objection to Boat Lift proposed plan for neighbor
Steve Campbell's request
Attention: Kara Guthrie
The concern and objection we have to the request as proposed for the boat lift is the
placement of the lift structure. It will create a significantly impaired view experienced from our
property. Having the lift structure and a suspended boat directly in front of our kitchen
window and for the side of our deck is certainly not desirable. It would create negative impact
on to our property.
As a fellow coastal land owner, we understand the value of water frontage as it relates to view,
and water access. We would have NO Objection to the request if the location of the lift were
on the East side of the Campbell's existing waterside "deck structure."
The image below enables you to see and evaluate the point we are bringing to your attention.

This letter is in response to your objections dated received by DCM on 10/24/2023 regarding
your concerns about the proposal by Steve Cambell to install a platform, finger pier and boatlift '., :,,p
within Bear Creek at 108 Saltwater Lane in Hubert, Onslow County. The proposed project has
been determined to comply with the Rules of the Coastal Resources Commission(7H. .1200), I
and as such, a permit has been issued to authorize the development. I have enclosed a copy of
the permit, as well as the relevant statutes. Q:x
If you wish to contest our decision to issue this permit,you may file a request for a Third-
Party Hearing.The request for a hearing will be considered by the Chairman of the Coastal
Resources Commission. The hearing request must be filed with the Director, Division of
Coastal Management, in writing and must be received within twenty (20) days after the
disputed permit decision is made. I have enclosed the applicable forms and instructions
