RE: EXEMPTED PROJECT-SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENCES WITHIN THE ORW ESTAURINE SHORELINE AREA OF ENVIRONMENTAL CONCERN (AEC) 15A NCAC Emerald Isle 07K.0208 Planning and Inspections ` 7500 Emerald Drive PROJECT LOCATION/ADDRESS— 10532 COAST GUARD RD Emerald Isle, NC 28594 Dear MR BYRD: 252-354-8548 voice 252-354-5068 fax I have reviewed the information submitted to this office in your inquiry concerning the necessary filing of an application for a CAMA Minor Development Permit under the Coastal Area Management www.emeraldisle-nc.org Act. After making a site inspection on DECEMBER 11, 2017, I have determined that the activity you propose is exempt from needing a CAMA Minor Development Permit, as long as it remains consistent with your project drawing, submitted on DECEMBER 7, 2017, and it also meets the Town Planner conditions specified below. If you plans should change and your project will no longer meet these conditions, please contact me before proceeding. Josh Edmondson jedmondson@emeraldisle-nc.org SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENCES WITHIN THE ORW ESTAURINE SHORELINE AEC EXEMPTED 1. All development shall be constructed more than 40 feet landward of the normal high water or normal water level from waters classified as ORW. 2. No ground disturbance or land disturbing activity shall occur within 40 feet of the normal high water or normal water level. 3. The development may not exceed a 25% built-upon area within 575 feet of the normal high water or normal water level from waters classified as ORW, and shall not include any stormwater collection system. The development shall be consistent with all other applicable CAMA permit standards, North Carolina Building Code standards, local ordinances and local land use plans in effect at the time the exemption is granted. This exemption to CAMA permit requirements does not alleviate the necessity of your obtaining any other State, Federal or Local authorization. Construction of the structure authorized by this exemption shall be completed by December 31 of the third year of the issuance date of this exemption.
