Dear Mr. Anderson,
I apologize for the delay in responding to your request for information.
Attached is the following information in response to your request:
1. The application from NCDOT for authorization to construct a wavebreak structure that is engineered to
attenuate wave energies and provide a suitable wave climate to promote submerged aquatic vegetation
(SAV)coverage. NCDOT and/or its contractor would also perform a subsequent study. The proposed
project would serve as mitigation to offset potential loss of SAV habitat during the replacement of the
Herbert C. Bonner Bridge over Oregon Inlet in Dare County. Please note that Exhibit 2 of the
application is outdated.
2. Revised Exhibit 2 of the SAV Mitigation Plan.
3. A copy of the Major Modification of CAMA Permit 106-12 that was issued by the N.C. Division of
Coastal Management(DCM)on December 15, 2015.
4. The Field Investigation Report that was prepared by the DCM Transportation Project Field
Representative Greg Daisey.
My role in this project was to process the CAMA major permit application, and I would be happy to answer any
questions regarding the permit that was issued. If you have questions about the project design or
implementation, then the following is contact information for folks that might be better able to answer your

Subject: Break water project in NC returning SAV
Hi Cathy,
Would you have any information on this project off your shoreline with CSA on a break water
project off your coast? We make break water reefs that are portable and have had great
success with bio mass recruiting on array plus returning sand on shoreline behind array. Like
to know more about your project.
Thanks in Advance
Jim
