The NCDOT letter requests authorization to clear the right-of-way on the northern side of the proposed bridge using non-mechanized methods as follows: • Proceed with non-mechanized temporary clearing activities adjacent to the north side of the permanent bridge and its associated wetlands in order to provide a clear swing span for materials to be maneuvered around the bridge construction. The area to be cleared varies between 8 feet and 24 feet with an average width of 19 feet and a length of 620 feet, all of which is within the existing NCDOT right-of-way. The proposed clearing on the north side of the bridge will be non-mechanized and will not include any grubbing activities. Any trees that are removed will be done by cabling from high ground.
