SITE DESCRIPTION
The applicant proposes to replace an existing bridge over S.R. 1415 with
three (3) 95 inch by 67 inch by 50 feet corrugated steel pipe arch culverts. The
existing bridge is 5 feet above MHW and the creek is navigable. The existing bridge
is bordered on either side with wooded swamp. The current water depth is approximatel
3 to 4 feet. The proposed project will result in the excavation and filling of
3500 square feet of creek bottom.
ANTICIPATED IMPACTS
The proposed project will result in the filling of 180 cubic yards below
NWL. with a total of 560 cubic yards of fill being required. The proposed pro;;ect
will result in increased levels of turbidity, although the effects will be
localized and short termed. The proposed project will stop navigation by boat
at the site, making a portage necessary.

RECOMMENDATIONS
( 1) In order to protect juvenile anadromous fin fish populations, no
excavation of filling will be permitted between April 1 and September 30
of any year without the prior approval of the Division of Coastal Management.
Additionally, in order to protect spawning anadromous adults , no excavation
or filling will be permitted between January 1 and March 30 of any year without
the prior approval of the Division of Coastal Management.
(2)' Turbidity levels will be limited to a minimum during all phases of
construction.
