We have a boat and boat dock at our property, as do many Magens Bay neighbors further down past us from the Bridge View subdivision.The water is very shallow throughout this area and especially at low tides, sometimes as shallow as 1- 2' of water. There is hardly enough depth for our boat to draft through the channel towards the Emerald Isle bridge into and out of the ICW into Bogue Sound and to and from our dock as it is now and we currently hug the boat ramp to pass. Passing by the Bridge View boat ramp is our only access route into the ICW, as well as the only access route for our other Magens Bay neighbors with boats that are not flat-bottom boats. A pier that extended 50' into this channel, as indicated on the diagram provided (6' x 50'), would obstruct our access to the waterway. In addition, if such a pier provided for boats to dock there,the boats would further extended into the 2 shallow channel area. I request that this pier not be permitted to be constructed. Thank you.
