This letter is with reference to your application for a Coastal Area Management Act Major
Development and State Dredge and Fill permit, acting as agent for the Town of Surf City, to
undertake development activities in Banks Channel, and adjacent to the Atlantic Ocean, in Surf
City, Pender and Onslow Counties.
Additional time is needed for this office to complete the review and make a decision on your
request. Therefore, it is necessary that the standard review time be extended. An additional 75
days is provided by G.S. 113A-122(c) which would make April 24, 2020, the new deadline for
reaching a decision on your request. However, we expect to take action prior to that time and will
do so as soon as possible. In the interim, if you have any question on the status of your application,
