Raleigh, NC 27609 Dear Mr. Martin: NORTH CAROLINA Environmental Quality February 8, 2021 This letter is with reference to your application for a major modification to the Town of Oak Island's Coastal Area Management Act Major Development and State Dredge and Fill Permit (State Permit No. 31-20), acting as agent for the Town of Oak Island, to undertake beach nourishment development activities at Oak Island, in and adjacent to the Atlantic Ocean, in Brunswick County. Additional time is needed for this office to complete the review and make a decision on your request. Therefore, it is necessary that the standard review time be extended. An additional 75 days is provided by G.S. I I3A-122(c) which would make April 24, 2021, the new deadline for reaching a decision on your request. However, we expect to take action prior to that time and will do so as soon as possible.
