Watts Jr., Director Tele: 252.975.6659/Fax: 252.975.2828 Email: iimr@coastalnet.com 9 March 2019 Ms. Katie Finegan Moffat and Nichol 4700 Falls of Neuse Road, Suite 300, Raleigh, NC 27609 Mr. Dave Bernstein GeoDynamics LLC 310 Greenfield Drive Newport, North Carolina 28570 RE: Oak Island Coring Project: Central Area Analysis Dear Ms. Finegan and Mr. Bernstein, Post Office Box 2494 5290 River Road Washington NC 27889-2494 I would like to confirm that Tidewater Atlantic Research (TAR) reviewed the 173-statute miles of magnetometer and sonar data GeoDynamics recently collected in the central area off Oak Island (Figure 1). Analysis of the magnetometer data identified 149 anomalies (Figure 2; Appendix A). All 149 signatures appear to be generated by debris. None of those magnetic anomalies have signature characteristics indicative of association with vessel remains. Likewise, the 18 sonar targets (Figure 3; Appendix B) represent debris and bottom surface features. Based on the magnetometer and sidescan sonar data TAR reviewed, no shipwreck remains are located in the survey area. Best regards, Gordon P. Watts, Jr., Ph.
