CAMA Permit Renewal: #91-96 (Bald Head Island Limited, LLC) Deep Point Marina
Dear Ms Coats,
Bald Head Island Limited, LLC would like to respectfully request a formal renewal letter for the
Deep Point Marina, 1301 Ferry Road, Southport, NC. The recent Letter of Refinement dated
11/23/09 for Marina Area Update based on my drawing and letter date 11/20/09 included the
permit extension based on Session Law 2009-406 until 12/31/2012.
In order to keep the Bald Head Island Limited, LLC Planning Department's files consistent in the
manner of tracking renewals for the many CAMA Major Permits, we feel that it would be best to
have a separate renewal letter. The system has worked well for many years, and has allowed
new people in the Planning Department to chronologically follow the many years of permits,
letters of refinement and minor modification.
While opening of the new Main Passenger Ferry Terminal, the parking facility and the 82 slip
recreational portion of the marina have been milestones this year, there are still several years of
development remaining. Major items remaining are the Administration Building, Harbormaster
Office, Marina Retail Complex, Restaurant and Hotel, and emptying of the Spoil Basin. With
this down economy, projects aren't moving quite as quickly. And of course, with time, we
usually seem to come up with better, more eco-friendly ideas. I do anticipate future LOR's and
Minor Modifications to this permit, but not quite at the hectic pace of this year.
Thanks for all of your kind assistance on the Deep Point Marina Project. Please do not hesitate
to call me at 910-228-2484 or 799-9245 if you have any questions and/or comments. When
complete„ please e-mail to me or fax to 910-457-7463.
Sincerely,
Bruce Marek, P.E.
